Placental Abruption after Fetoscopic Laser Surgery in Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome: The Role of the Solomon Technique

چکیده
<b><i>Introduction:</i></b> Twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) is a complication in monochorionic twin pregnancies which preferably treated with fetoscopic laser surgery. A few small studies suggested possible association between the Solomon technique and placental abruption. <b><i>Methods:</i></b> The objective of this study to compare rate explore potential risk factors for abruption TTTS surgery according Selective technique. We conducted large retrospective cohort consecutive TTTS-cases Shanghai, China, Leiden, Netherlands either (Selective group) or (Solomon group). <b><i>Results:</i></b> group versus was 1.7% (5/289) 3.4% (15/441), respectively (<i>p</i> = 0.184). No were identified. Placental associated lower gestational age at birth 0.003) severe cerebral injury 0.003). <b><i>Conclusion:</i></b> prevalence after low, although it appears higher than overall population. birth, injury. not significantly increased use Continued research necessary determine why

Fetoscopic laser therapy for twin-twin transfusion syndrome.
Twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) complicates approximately 1 in 5 of all monochorionic, diamniotic twin pregnancies. If of early onset and untreated, severe TTTS is associated with a dismal prognosis, with perinatal mortality rates exceeding 90%. The most controversial issue regarding the optimal treatment of TTTS has centered on the use of amniocentesis or laser until the first and only r...

متن کاملThe Treatments of Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome in Monochorionic Twin Pregnancies by the Fetoscopic Laser Photocoagulation
Fetoscopic laser surgery for severe Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) has been conducted since early 1990s in United States and Europe. After the conclusion of Eurofetus in the randomized clinical trial [1], fetoscopic laser surgery has become the standard and optimal treatment for the TTTS condition. Recently, the techniques have been implemented throughout the globe; many institutions hav...

Fetoscopic laser surgery for severe twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) has become the optimal treatment choice since the release of the Eurofetus randomized clinical trial. These techniques have been adopted throughout the globe, and many institutions have instituted or will soon institute fetoscopic laser surgery procedures; however, laser surgery has a steep learning curve because of the f...

OBJECTIVE To determine the incidence of congenital heart disease (CHD) and right ventricular outflow tract obstruction (RVOTO) in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) treated with fetoscopic laser surgery and evaluate the role of increased afterload by determining the difference in blood pressure and endothelin-1 at birth between donor and recipient twins. DESIGN Prospective study. SETT...
